PRACTICAL NOTES FROM OUR HOMER TEAM

Arrive ready for wild Alaska.

BEFORE DEPARTURE

Layers, boots and a little room for wonder.

Bring warm layers, weather protection and comfortable hiking or outdoor boots for the trails. Pack your camera, spare batteries and essential personal medication, keeping the 15 pound baggage allowance in mind.

Snacks and water are included. If you bring more food, follow the crew’s directions and park storage rules. Food belongs in designated storage, away from bear viewing areas.

ON THE BROOKS RIVER

Leave time for the place to unfold.

Your three to five hours on the ground includes getting oriented, walking and time at the viewing areas. It does not mean three to five hours on the falls platform. Shared platforms, bear activity and park procedures shape the day.

Give bears space and follow ranger instructions. Brooks Camp has restrooms. Speak with our team about walking or boarding needs before booking.

Plan with current park information: National Park Service bear viewing guidance.
